The team seeks help from a new ally in the upcoming episode of "NCIS: New Orleans" season 3.

Titled "Poetic Justice," next week's episode will confirm whether fans will see the end of Mayor Hamilton (Steven Weber) or not. According to the official synopsis, the NCIS team is unable to trust anyone in New Orleans due to what is currently happening in the city. However, the investigators are still determined to get Hamilton out of his position. Agent Pride (Scott Bakula) and his team later decide to call in FBI Assistant Director Isler (Derek Webster) to help them expose and stop the evil plans Hamilton has for all Clearwater residents.

Cartermatt notes that the investigators' decision to seek help from the FBI makes sense because Isler can help them get exactly what they want. They are hell-bent on stopping Hamilton once and for all, but taking down a high-ranking official on their own will be a difficult task since they are far down the food chain.

As for how the episode will end, fans can expect another cliffhanger from the series. "NCIS: New Orleans" is part of a franchise that is known for its intriguing cliffhangers, so it is safe to say the writers will do something to keep viewers excited for what is to come.

Executive producer Chris Silber recently spoke with TV Guide and he shared details on the upcoming season. The EP confirmed that new faces, as well as old fan favorites, will be making their way to the procedural's next installment.

"You can expect to see perhaps some new guests we might bring in," Silber revealed. "You can also expect to see some old favorites . . . I wouldn't be surprised if we saw [Gregorio's ex] McKinley (Ed Quinn), I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some of the other old favorites coming back — maybe there'll be a Tom Arnold, I'm not sure. But we always love playing in the sandbox with some of these characters and are always glad to have them back."

The third season of "NCIS: New Orleans" airs every Tuesday at 10 p.m. EDT on CBS.
