More and more NBA trade rumors continue to cement the possible exit of Derrick Rose from Chicago Bulls. The franchise is reportedly looking to sign up Jeremy Lin of Charlotte Hornets as it new point guard.
While Rose wants to stay and play for his beloved team at least this year (he has expressed his desire for free agency for 2017), his waning performance is much more glaring for the franchise than his yearning to stick around.
According to the latest NBA trade rumors, the Bulls will undergo a heavy rebuilding this offseason with Jeremy Lin one of the players expected to fill the void that Rose will leave come the free agency.
Apart from the fact that Rose is down to his final year in his contract with the Bulls, the point guard is reportedly being traded off because he may not fit with the system to be implemented by new Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg, who replaced Tom Thibodeau.
In addition, Hoops Habit reports that the Bulls are in desperate need of a point guard, a position that Lin could certainly fill.
Although the publication admits that Lin's performance has fluctuates as he moves from a team to another, his play this season with the Hornets definitely showed why Linsanity was a thing.
This goes to show that Lin can perform when he is with the right teammates and direction. The Bulls is in need of his talent too.
While Lin isn't as big as he was when with the New York Knicks (where the Linsanity began), the Bulls should be able to strike a deal with a reasonable salary on the table.
Rumor has it that apart from Lin, the Bulls are looking to have Mike Conley on board to strengthen its point guard game when Rose packs his bags.
