'NBA 2K17' release date: Pre-order bonus comes with 2016 Team USA and legendary 1992 Team USA Olympic Dream Team

The 1992 USA Basketball "Dream Team" will appear alongside the players of the 2016 USA Basketball Men's National Team as a pre-order bonus for "NBA 2K17" before it comes out on Sept. 20.

PlayStation Lifestyle released a press statement from 2K Games, saying that the very first U.S. Olympic basketball team, which was composed of legendary NBA heroes, will be included in the upcoming installment of the basketball sim game for those who purchased it ahead of time.

The Dream Team includes Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Patrick Ewing, Larry Bird, Karl Malone, Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, David Robinson, Christian Laettner, Clyde Drexler, Chris Mullin, and John Stockton.

The Dream Team will also come with a USA Basketball MyPlayer jersey upon the release of the game.

The pre-order bonus will also include Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski.

According to the game developer, ""Coach K," as he's widely known – will appear on the sidelines coaching the 2016 USA Basketball Men's National Team in NBA2K17. His likeness will also be found in a revamped tutorial mode focusing on teaching fundamental basketball strategies including pick and roll execution, proper defensive positioning, ball movement, boxing out, court awareness and more."

The NBA 2K17 will be available for all gaming platforms for $59.99, but only those who own a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One can pre-order the special Kobe Bryant Legend Edition. The special edition game will come with the Black Mamba's virtual shoes, his throwback jersey, as well as a virtual Kobe hoodie with in-game currency and a poster. This edition will sell for $79.99.

Meanwhile, the Kobe Bryant Legend Gold Edition will also come with all the contents of the Legend Edition. It will have additional virtual currency value as well as a physical Kobe cover that can be inserted into the box of the game. It will be available for $99.99.
