Tamy Lyn Murrell, a mother who shared her story of struggle and pain on TLC's reality TV show "My 600-LB Life," is now seeing better days -- thanks to achieving her longtime goal of losing weight and re-introducing herself to the world she once barred herself from.

The former 591-pound matriarch who appeared on the show's latest installment revealed the root cause of her addiction to food, which she attributed to the loss of her father and her mother's slow spiral into depression.

Due to her unhealthy relationship with food, the 45 year old slowly gained the pounds and along with it are various complications. The mother of one described her ordeal as "no longer living life" and that she is just simply wasting away.

During the episode, Murrell also shared how she struggled socially during her childhood, which only reinforced her dependence on food to comfort herself.

In hopes of changing herself for the better, she sought the help of Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, whom she met through the show. Nowzaradan initially declined to perform the weight loss operation on Murrell seeing that she is suffering from emotional afflictions.

However, after displaying mental strength despite adversities, which she attributed to her loveless marriage and her husband's infidelity, Nowzaradan ultimately approved of fulfilling her gastric sleeve operation.

At the end of the feature, Murrell's persistent and unending attempts proved to be fruitful as she has successfully lost 246 pounds.

On Facebook, Murrell expressed her gratitude toward people who showed support during her weight loss journey. She also assured them that she is no longer affected by what people have to say.

"I want to thank all my family that have said such supported things and wanted to let you all know nothing that others say bothers me. Love you all," Murrell posted.
