'Mr. Robot' season 2 premiere date, spoilers: USA Network orders 2 additional episodes, live after-show

Fans of "Mr. Robot" are in for a treat in season 2, as USA Network ordered two additional episodes for the upcoming season as well as an aftershow to discuss the events that happened at the end of each episodes.

The critically acclaimed drama will now have 12 episodes that will all be directed by series creator Sam Esmail. It will also be immediately followed by a live, one-hour aftershow called "Hacking Robot."

"The first season of 'Mr. Robot' was everything we hoped for – and then some," Chris McCumber, President Entertainment Networks of the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment said in a statement obtained by Variety. "So it's no surprise that Sam and team have raised the bar even more in Season 2. From the first moments of the new season, it'll be clear that audiences are in for something incredibly special and wholly unexpected."

NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Chief Content Officer and Universal Cable Productions and Wilshire Studios President Jeff Wachtel also expressed his excitement over the show's upcoming season.

"Strap in! The extraordinary ride that is MR. ROBOT continues with a wild season two. It's a brilliant and immersive journey that demands to be watched again and again," Wachtel said.

The second season of "Mr. Robot" will follow the happenings that transpired 30 days after Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) and fsociety successfully hacked the multi-national corporation Evil Corp. Viewers will finally find out the effects of the hacking incident in society. They will also learn what's in store for Elliot now that he is already aware that the mysterious Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) was actually just a figment of his imagination and a way to keep his dead father alive in his head.

The network also released two new trailers for "Mr. Robot" season 2 prior to the show's premiere on July 13.
