Prepare to see a darker "Mr. Robot" when it returns for its second explosive season.

During the recently concluded New York Comic Con 2015, series stars Rami Malek (Elliot), Carly Chaikin (Darlene), Martin Wallstrom (Tyrell), Portia Doubleday (Angela), and Christian Slater (Mr. Robot) attended the special panel led by series creator Sam Esmail to discuss what "Mr. Robot" season 2 will be all about when it returns next year.

According to Chaikin, the knowledge of the rest of the cast can be considered very limited since the series creator is still keeping it a secret from them.

"Honestly, right now, I know as much as you guys do," the actress shared. "I'm sitting here coming up with theories about what happens and all these things, and learning more information."

But when Esmail was asked about the plot for the show's sophomore season, the series creator of one of the most-talked about TV series for this year simply said that the new season will get "really dark."

"One of the things that we always knew making this show, it was not about the hacking, it was about the characters. That goes for anything -- when you're making a medical drama, a lawyer [show] -- I don't know half the stuff they're saying on 'Law and Order.' But if it's about the people, you get the emotional beats, that's the most important part of it," the series creator shared.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly reported that the back story of the fsociety will be revealed this season. It will also show why Elliot and Darlene are connected to it, as well as their real relationship with each other. Slater's character Mr. Robot, the figment of Elliot's imagination, is also set to appear next season.

"Mr. Robot" season 2 is expected to premiere on USA Network sometime in 2016.
