Motorola Moto E3 release date, specs: Third gen Moto E3 arrives in August

The third generation Moto E, also known as the Moto E3, will be shipped to the market as early as August this year, Motorola UK revealed.

According to a report from Tech Droider, the UK division of Motorola has confirmed that the smartphone will be available in the region starting August, contrary to earlier reports that claimed that the device will be shipped in September.

The third version of the mid-range smartphone device is inspired by the design of the Moto G4 but with a slimmer body compared to its predecessor, which is the second-generation Moto E that came out in 2015.

The new Moto E3's body will only be 8.6mm thick, which means that it is thinner compared to the 12.3mm body of the Moto E2. It will also have a slightly bigger display, since it will sport a 5-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display. Its predecessor has a 4.5-inch display.

The official specs of the Motorola Moto E3 include 720 x 1280 pixels screen resolution, Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system, Mediatek chipset with a quad-core 1.0 GHz central processing unit, an 8 GB internal memory with 1 GB RAM that can be expanded up to 32 GB using the built-in microSD. It will also have an 8 megapixel primary camera as well as a 5 megapixel front-facing secondary camera.

It will also be equipped with a 2800mAh battery that could provide power to the device for 24 hours without charging.

GSM Arena revealed that the upcoming Motorola Moto E3 can be purchased for £100, which would be around $130 in the U.S. markets. However, there are no reports yet about the official release date of the device in North American countries as well as other parts of the world.
