There is no denying that Capcom has really struck gold with its newly released game in the "Monster Hunter" franchise titled "Monster Hunter: World," which saw its debut on the PS4 and the Xbox One. However, due to its limited release, some players can't help but feel left out on the monster-hunting adventure game especially users of the Nintendo Switch.
Since its release back in January of this year, "Monster Hunter" has obviously been a commercial success, selling off a total of 7.5 million copies -- the biggest cash cow Capcom has ever produced.
And due highly to its success, Nintendo Switch users can't help but want to join in on the fun -- clamoring for a port for Nintendo's current console.
But despite the rising tide of demand for a "Monster Hunter: World" port, Capcom expressed that a port for the Switch would be a very challenging venture seeing as the Switch functions very differently from other stationary consoles. That is where Iron Galaxy steps in -- a studio that has made a name for itself in the porting scene. It lists a body of converted work featuring games such as "Batman: Arkham Knight" and "Killer Instinct," both of which it ported to the PC platform.
Adam Boyes, the studio's CEO, expressed on Twitter his willingness to help Capcom in porting the game into the Switch. He specifically messaged the "Monster Hunter" team, wherein he shared that he knows how difficult of a venture it is to port the game so he is offering to make it happen by lending his studio's expertise.
As we know now, Boyes and his studio are no strangers to porting. Most recently, they were tasked with bringing Bethesda's highly acclaimed adventure fantasy "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" to the Switch, which they successfully accomplished.
As of present time, Capcom has yet to issue any confirmation on Boyes' offer or more specifically if "Monster Hunter: World" will officially be ported on the Nintendo Switch.
In other news, there is a "Monster Hunter" port that is currently available for the Nintendo Switch -- "Monster Hunter XX." Unfortunately, the game has only been released in Japan and has yet to arrive Westward. No news about a localization to U.S. audiences has been made as of present time.
