MLB trade rumors 2016: Yankees trading Chapman, Beltran before Aug. 1?

With just two weeks until the closing date of the 2016 non-waiver trade lapses, reports claim that the New York Yankees are hurrying to complete all trade negotiations before the deadline.

One of the rumored players who will get traded from the Yankees is the 28-year-old pitcher Aroldis Chapman. He is reportedly being considered to be traded by the team for Chicago Cubs' outfielder Kyle Schwarber. But the pending free agent does not have any bad blood against the Yankees in case the deal will push through.

In an interview with New York Daily News, Chapman told sports writer Mark Feinsand that he will still consider returning to the team as a free agent in case a trade has been made. "If I am traded, I would love to come back and be part of the team again," Chapman said.

Also, outfielder Carlos Beltran may also be traded to his original team Kansas City Royals before the Aug. 1 deadline. According to New York Post, both teams are trying to sort out an agreement that involves Beltran and the Royals' right-hander Luke Hochevar. But no official announcements had been made if the trade will push through at the moment, or if both camps are still considering the deal to happen.

But according to Fox Sports' source for MLB related news Ken Rosenthal, the Yankees may still be waiting for more actions in the free agent market before they could make their next move. "The Yankees are not in sell mode right now," Rosenthal stated in an interview with Fox Sports 1 as reported by Fansided. "They're not even exchanging names they could even decide to their starting pitchers until the offseason when the returns would be just as strong, given the weakness of the free agent market."

More trade deals are expected to be announced before the deadline on the first day of August.
