Web-based retail giant Amazon seems to have accidentally listed the launch date of the first episode of Telltale's "Minecraft: Story Mode" in both the North American and European markets.
The product listing on the online retailer's website reveals that the first installment of the episodic game will come out for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 in North America beginning Oct. 27, while gamers in Europe can get a hold of their copies starting Oct. 30.
Based on the listing, "Minecraft: Story Mode" is an adventure game that is set in the "Minecraft" world developed by Telltale Games — the same maker of the popular episodic game adaptations of "Game of Thrones," "The Walking Dead," and "Tales from the Borderlands" — in collaboration with "Minecraft" developer Mojang.
The product description posted on the listing reads:
As Jesse, you'll embark on a perilous adventure across the Over world, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond. You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, you and your friends discover that something is wrong. something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion. Players have to make their own decisions on the flow of the game. They need to gather different items, solve puzzles, as well as communicate with other non-playing characters to push through with the adventure.
The game's physical disk will come with the first episode, and it will also give access to the next four episodes upon release. It will sell in the U.S. for $29.99, while its European price tag is set at £23.49.
Telltale Games has yet to confirm the release date of "Minecraft: Story Mode" that was posted on the Amazon product listing.
