After Microsoft released Surface Pro 4 in October, new speculations claim that the fifth-generation 2-in-1 tablet and laptop device will be more powerful compared to the current model.

As per new reports, the new Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will come out with a wider screen. This means that the current 12.3-inch display will possibly be increased to 13.3-inch. Also, the new hybrid laptop–tablet will reportedly have a 4K Ultra HD display.

There are also speculations claiming that the next Surface Pro device will finally get the upcoming Intel Kaby Lake processor. The current Surface Pro 4 was also expected to be equipped with Intel's highly anticipated processor, but it only came out with the current Skylake processor since Kaby Lake had been delayed until the second half of 2016.

On the other hand, the internal storage of the upcoming Surface Pro 5 is expected to remain at 256 GB with 16 GB of RAM. However, Microsoft is expected to introduce their latest Windows 10 Redstone 2 operating system upon the release of the hybrid laptop–tablet device.

Other improvements expected on the rumored Microsoft Surface Pro 5 includes the better battery capacity to eradicate the rapid battery draining issues of the Surface Pro 4.

Since the price of the latest Surface Pro 4 begins at $999 and could reach to as much as $1,799, the next generation Surface Pro 5 is expected to range from $899 up to $1,599 to attract more consumers to purchase the upcoming product.

However, Microsoft has yet to confirm if the rumored specs for the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5 are valid. The tech giant also has to announce when they are planning to release the device since they just announced and shipped the current model back in October. Although, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to come out in the second half of 2017 based on speculations.
