Microsoft Lumia 950 release date: AT&T to launch device on Nov. 20?

After unveiling the Lumia 950 for the first time last Oct. 6, Microsoft will reportedly release the Lumia 950 to the market through AT&T next week.

Windows Central recently reported that the Redmond, Washington-based tech firm will start shipping the 5.2-inch smartphone device on Friday, Nov. 20. According to the report, the said date is a logical one because releasing it this Friday, Nov. 13, will be too soon, while launching the product during the Black Friday sales on Nov. 27 will not be a good move since it is probably the most hectic shopping day of the year.

A separate report from the website revealed that the digital signage spotted in one of the AT&T stores in Fresno could be proof that the new Windows 10 smartphone will come out really soon.

Speculations claim that Microsoft will release Lumia 950 later than expected because the tech firm wants to incorporate the Windows Hello iris scanner into the latest Windows 10 operating system in time for the device's release.

Aside from the 5.2-inch AMOLED display with 2,560 x 1,440 pixels resolution, the upcoming Lumia 950 device will also come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor that is clocked at 1.8GHz. It will also have 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 200 GB using the device's microSD slot.

The device will also come with a 20-MP primary rear-facing camera as well as a 5-MP front-facing secondary shooter. It will also have a powerful 3,000 mAh battery that can provide up to 18 hours of talk-time when the device is on the 3G mode.

Microsoft is also expected to release the Lumia 950 XL without contract subscription at the tech company's retail stores in the coming days.
