The Microsoft Lumia 635 smartphone will finally arrive in the U.S., as Microsoft and Sprint, along with its subsidiaries, announced that they will offer the device starting next week.

"We are excited to welcome Lumia 635 as our first Windows Phone on our two no-contract brands -- Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile USA -- providing customers the ultimate in financial flexibility and choice," said Sprint's senior vice president of product development David Owens.

"This device is the showpiece for our reinvigorated relationship with Microsoft, and we know our customers will appreciate all they can do with the powerful Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. Our Sprint postpaid customers will experience this device right after the new year," he added.

Matt Rothschild, Microsoft Mobile Devices head of North America sales, also talked about the partnership that they formed with Sprint, saying, "The Sprint, Boost and Virgin brands have great synergy with the value represented by the Lumia 635 -- a great, affordable smartphone that delivers uncompromised experiences to help people do more."

The soon-to-be released Lumia 635 will come with a 4.5-inch 854 x 480 Gorilla Glass 3 ClearBlack touchscreen display. It is equipped with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 512 MB of RAM and comes with 8 GB of internal storage that could be expanded with the help of its microSD expansion slot.

The new Windows Lumia 635 smartphone also comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and runs using the latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. It also features a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, as well as an 1830 mAh battery that could last up to 14 hours of talk time.

Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile USA will release the Lumia 635 smartphones on Dec. 23 for only $99.99 off-contract excluding taxes, while Sprint will release the latest Windows Lumia smartphone on Jan. 16. The pricing for Sprint is still unannounced at the moment.
