Nexus 6 vs Lumia 535 specs comparison: Battle of the new smartphones

After months of waiting following its acquisition of Nokia, Microsoft will finally release its first ever brand-carrying Lumia smartphone, the Microsoft Lumia 535, later this November.  The soon-to-be released smartphone will reportedly offer astounding specs and features without the high-end price tag that is common in other brands.

But how will the Microsoft Lumia 535 pit against the other upcoming smartphone device, Google's Nexus 6 from Motorola, which will also come out later this month?  Here is a comparison between the two smartphone brands:

Screen Display and Dimensions

The Microsoft Lumia 535 will come in a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen that has 540 x 960 pixel resolution with 220 ppi density. It also has a 5.52 x 2.85 x 0.35-inch body dimension, and weighs 146 grams.

The Nexus 6, on the other hand, will arrive with a 5.96-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen that has 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution with 493 ppi density. The body dimension measures 6.27 x 3.27 x 0.40 inches all over, and weighs 184 grams.

Both screens are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The first Lumia smartphone that will carry Microsoft's name has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset with quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU and Adreno 302 GPU. It has a built-in 8 GB internal storage with 1 GB RAM and a microSD card slot than can hold up to 128 GB expansion.

Google's Nexus 6 will come equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU. There are two internal memory variants to choose from, which is 32 GB and 64 GB. Both have 3 GB RAM, but they do not have a slot for memory expansion.

The Microsoft Lumia 535 will run using the latest Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, while the Nexus 6 will use the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

Camera

The primary camera of the Lumia 535 will have 5 megapixels with LED flash and autofocus, while its secondary camera will also be 5 megapixels.

The Nexus 6 will have a better, clearer camera option, with 13 megapixel primary shooter with dual LED flash, optical image stabilization, and autofocus options, while its secondary camera will have 2 megapixels.
