After showcasing the latest trailer for "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" during the recently concluded Tokyo Game Show 2014, series showrunner Hideo Kojima announced that the much awaited action-adventure series will be released in different gaming platforms sometime next year.

Though no specific dates were mentioned, Kojima's news during this year's TGS assured fans that the development of the fifth Metal Gear installment is properly progressing, and it will be released to the public very soon.

Kojima released the teaser for the new gameplay during the scheduled stage presentation intended just for the title. The trailer featured the interaction between Quiet and Big Boss with his set of Diamond Dogs. It also showed Quiet's special powers that allow her to become invisible and her ability to move without being detected. In addition, a new gameplay that concentrates on the game's cooperative stealth capabilities was also seen during the presentation.

Quiet's image was allegedly patterned after Dutch model Stefanie Joosten, while actor Kiefer Sutherland will provide the voice for the game's main character, Snake.

Back in August, Gaming Bolt pointed out that Kojima may have deliberately divulged the release date for the game via an image posted on his Twitter account.

In this post, the game director tweeted an ordinary looking screenshot of the game. But if it is zoomed in for further scrutiny, there is a note that says "2014 Q4," which was earlier believed to be the actual release date for the game.

However, the fourth quarter of 2014 is already happening, but the release date has not been announced yet. The post could be Kojima's way to mislead the fans, or it could not mean anything significant at this point.

Once released, "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" will be available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows PC editions for multi-platform experience.
