'Metal Gear Online' DLC release date update: 'Cloaked in Silence' DLC drops March 15; what to expect

Konami has announced the release date of the highly anticipated DLC coming to "Metal Gear Online." The "Cloaked in Silence" DLC is officially dropping on March 15 with a bunch of cool goodies.

Quiet arrives in the latest "Metal Gear Online" DLC Cloaked in Silence Konami

The expansion pack gives "Metal Gear Online" players three new maps to tread, each of them presenting unique challenges. The first one is called Azure Mountain, which, as players would imagine, is one big forest that is home to the rock known as Cradle of Spirits. It barely has walls to cover players.

The second map from the "Metal Gear Online" "Cloaked in Silence" DLC is called Coral Complex, an elaborate riff located in the Motherbase that operates in the middle of the sea. It's all about tactical advantage as it is packed with tall towers and storage containers to hide in.

The third and final map is called Rust Palace, which is the complete opposite of the Coral Complex in terms of the players' opportunities it presents to conceal or cover themselves from enemies. Located in Afghanistan, here, everything is crumbling, old and dangerous.

Of course, the bit "Metal Gear Online" fans are most excited about "Cloaked in Silence" is the entrance of fan-favorite character Quiet. Thanks to the expansion pack, gamers can now perform missions and fight as the female assassin.

Quiet's Sniper skills will definitely help players win battles. She can sprint fast and easy and she can be even cloaked to avoid enemy detection. She can jump her way to the top of ladders as well.

The "Cloaked in Silence" DLC for "Metal Gear Online" with three new maps and Quiet is priced at $3.99. Players who want to add in the Appeals actions to the package are to pay $10.99. For the uninitiated, Appeals or emotes trigger a unique character pose.

"Cloaked in Silence" officially drops on March 15. Purchasing the DLC will score players unlimited access to the upcoming Survival mode (out April 7), where groups of six battle for the highest win streak to earn rewards. Those who do not purchase "Cloaked in Silence" can use Survival up to 10 matches per week.
