'Mega Man' games news: New 'Mega Man 11' and 'Mega Man X' series coming in 2018

The popular "Mega Man" game franchise has been around for three decades now. Fans that have grown up with the games and consoles evolving will be happy to know that the latest "Mega Man 11" will be released in a few months, together with the previous "Mega Man X" series

As part of their 30th-anniversary celebration, Capcom, the game's developers, recently had a livestream to announce the exciting news. The games will be playable on all major platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. Fans can also expect improved visuals from the old-school graphics they've seen in past installments.

"The classic series takes a leap forward in visual presentation in Mega Man 11 with a 2.5D design direction introducing beautiful, completely hand-drawn characters and environments," said Capcom during their stream. "A freshly redesigned Mega Man takes on Dr. Wily's berserk machines, defeating Robot Master bosses and taking their weapons, in an ever-evolving fight for justice with new and unique enemy designs."

In addition to their live stream, they have also released a 30th Anniversary trailer that showcased all of the existing "Mega Man" games throughout the years. Fans will surely get a feel of nostalgia seeing the old graphics as the original "Mega Man" model jumps through from year to year. When he reaches 2018, it finally gives a glimpse of what the new "Mega Man 11" will look like, and it definitely does not disappoint.

That said, Capcom is also allowing its players to play the previous titles in the franchise. Released back in 2015 for the PC, the "Mega Man Legacy Collection," which originally added the first six games of the series, will now have a "rewind" option that allows gamers to play them again and again.

There has not been an official date for its release yet. However, fans can expect it to come late 2018.
