'Mass Effect 4' update: Game release date, alien participations

Will third-person shooter game fans finally see the fourth installment of the "Mass Effect" series sometime soon?

Though little is known about the details surrounding the release of "Mass Effect 4," BioWare teased fans a bit during the 2014 San Diego Comic Con back in July, when the developers asked them about what they want to see in the new game.

The developer also divulged that the upcoming "Mass Effect" game will have an indirect storyline with the past Mass Effect series that began in 2007.

However, nothing has been heard about it since then.

But on Sept. 10, Mass Effect producer Michael Gamble posted on Twitter another detail about the upcoming game, saying, "I've never seen salarians look so damn good."

This is in an obvious reference to the possible improvements that the developers have made after the trilogy was released.

The Salarians is one of the three confirmed races that BioWare has included in the new Mass Effect installment, together with the Krogans and Humans.

Aside from the Twitter post, another information about the new game speculates that several alien races, like the Turian and the Asari, are also coming back. Players of "Mass Effect 3" saw these races survive the Reapers' harvesting after they chose to activate the Crucible option.

International Business Times also reported that other non-human characters can be nominated to join the new "Mass Effect" game, such as the Qurian Tali'Zorah nar Rayya, Drell Thane Krios, as well as the Salarian Mordin Solus.

The "Mass Effect" Trilogy is a sci-fi role playing shooter game that deals with the mission of Commander Shepard to save the galaxy from different mechanical characters called the Reapers, particularly the vicious Sarem Arterius.

On the other hand, the Examiner reported that the Mass Effect Trilogy will be re-released for PS3 and Xbox 360. The new version will feature the improvements over the technical problems that the game contained in the past.

In addition, it should be noted that Amazon U.K. posted that "Mass Effect 4" will be released in PS4 and Xbox One editions in October 2015. However, there are no confirmations yet from anyone in BioWare.
