'Jessica Jones' season 2 renewed? When will new season premiere?

Netflix has officially dropped "Marvel's Jessica Jones", which means that fans of the superhero series may have binge-watched the show last weekend.

But after learning about Jessica's adventures after she opened a private investigation agency when she failed as a superhero, fans are wondering if there is still a possibility to see her in a second season.

Lead actress Krysten Ritter talked about the future of the show in her interviews, where she claimed that a second season should be in the works since there remains to be a lot to tell story wise. However, there could be one problem in producing a follow-up to the series.

"Marvel's Jessica Jones" is part of Marvel and Netflix's line of superhero shows that also includes "Marvel's Daredevil" starring Charlie Cox, "Marvel's Luke Cage" and "Marvel's Iron Fist." These will pave the way for "Marvel's The Defenders" mini-series where all the characters from the previous series will be reunited. Since the Network has already made the timeline for the premiere of each series, it will be hard to determine how to throw a new "Jessica Jones" season in the mix.

"The question becomes is there actual time? There are logistics involved, because Defenders has to shoot by a certain time, contractually," Ritter explained in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "Actually, I'm not sure; I'm not at all involved in those conversations, much to my dismay. The first question is whether or not we will even get a second season. The second question is, if so, when? Will it be before The Defenders or after? I'd certainly love it to be before but there are things that play into that — time, availability."

Even series executive producer Melissa Rosenberg told Deadline that she would love to see a second season for "Marvel's Jessica Jones" in the future.

But in the meantime, Netflix will stick to its timeline.
