FYI's "Married at First Sight: The First Year" will return for a second season.

The network will bring back the couples from "Married at First Sight" season 1 who remained married long after the month-long social experiment wherein they were paired with a stranger and were wed on their first meeting. During that season, couples Jason Carrion and Cortney Hendrix and Doug Hehner and Jamie Otis met, got married, and agreed that they wanted to remain married even after the filming for their season already concluded.

The couples were once again featured in the first season of "Married at First Sight: The First Year," which highlighted the developments in the couples' relationships from the sixth month of being married up to their first year together. Some of their milestones included celebrating birthdays and holidays and meeting the rest of their families. It also showed how Jason and Cortney dealt with her career struggles, while Jamie and Doug were seen having different opinions about adding kids in their relationship.

But both couples managed to surpass their real-life struggles and they are still married even up to this day. This is why the network wants to bring back the reel-turned-real married couples for another season of the relationship reality series.

The upcoming season will feature the new encounters the couples experience after their first year. It will show more achievements and trials such as renovating their home, talking about babies, and even dealing with other members of their spouse's family.

The seven-part "Married at First Sight: The First Year" season 2 begins airing on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Meanwhile, the disastrous results of "Married at First Sight" season 2 seem to be the reason why talks about its cancellation have appeared online. If the speculations are true, FYI's televised social experiment will no longer continue for season 3.

Remember when these couples were strangers!? We barely do! On October 13th at 9/8c, our faves, Jamie Otis Official, Doug...
