Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather fight update: Tim Bradley wants fight too

The Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. bout has been highly requested for a while now, but there are no concrete details yet if this will push through anytime soon.

The clamor for the match between two of the most respected men in boxing in this generation began a few years ago, but plans to bring them together in the ring never pushed through. But Top Rank CEO Bob Arum's birthday celebration on Monday gave hopes for the highly anticipated fight.

The boxing promoter was unusually mum on the topic during his 83rd birthday party, which others take as a sign that there is a looming Pacquiao-Mayweather fight in the future. Arum's silence is speculated to mean that he had learned his lessons from his past mistakes, when he said things that jeopardized the talks between the two camps. With his silence, Arum might be working hard to make sure that a deal will be made for the fight.

Aside from Arum, Pacquiao's former foe Tim Bradley also stated that he wants to see the much-awaited fight between the two pound-for-pound greats.

In an interview with ESPN, Bradley stated, "Manny is definitely a big threat in the sport, still a top dog, and I think he will be a threat to Floyd Mayweather Jr. , I honestly do."

The boxer also mentioned his opinions about Pacquiao's ability to defeat Mayweather, saying, "I think he can clip Mayweather. I think it's a 50-50 fight, and I think it should happen. We have to wait and see if they can put it together. I think it makes sense. I think the fight does over 3 million pay-per-view buys, and it's the fight that everybody wants to see, and I think it's great for boxing."

But until Mayweather finally lays out his feasible side of the deal to fight the Pacman, it could be hard to imagine that this dream bout will finally happen in the future.
