Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord will have the best training in the hands of the most ideal mentor in running the affairs of the White House when "Madam Secretary" returns for its sophomore season.

Lead star Tea Leoni, who portrays the role of the fictional Secretary of State in CBS' political drama, recently confirmed in her Twitter account that the real Madam Secretary herself, Madeleine Albright, will be a special guest star when the series returns next fall.

In her post, both Leoni and Albright wore matching golden brooches with a flying eagle design on their lapels. Her caption reads: "Beyond honored to have @Madeleine Albright on the #MadamSecretary set today! #MatchingPins."

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright served beside President Bill Clinton from 1997 up to 2001.The first woman who became the United States Secretary of State will appear in "Madam Secretary" season 2 as herself to offer valuable advices to Leoni's McCord.

According to The Express UK, Secretary Albright will teach Elizabeth how to survive the dirty politics on Capitol Hill. Her visit to the White House is right on time, since Elizabeth needs some guidance on how to arrange a risky deal with National Security Advisor Craig Sterling (Julian Acosta), which could greatly affect her relationship with the U.S. President Conrad Dalton (Keith Carradine).

This will not be the first appearance of the esteemed politician in a fictional show. In 2005, Secretary Albright also appeared as herself in "Gilmore Girls" when she showed up in Rory's (Alexis Bledel) dream. Notably, the new CBS political series has the same title as her 2003-released memoir.

Aside from Leoni, Madam Secretary also stars Tim Daly as her professor husband Henry McCord; Bebe Neuwrith as Elizabeth's own Chief of Staff Nadie Tolliver; Wallis Currie-Wood as the couple's eldest daughter Stephanie; Evan Roe as their only Jason; and Kathrine Herzer as Alison, the McCords' youngest daughter.

"Madam Secretary" season 2 premieres on Oct. 4.
