MacBook Pro 2016 release date, specs news: announcement may come this week?

The next Apple keynote event will be held on Thursday, where the highly anticipated unveiling of the MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to happen.

While the Cupertino-based tech giant remains silent about the upcoming event, several speculations claim that the new MacBook Pro will be the star of the show.

Reports claim that Apple will release a new MacBook Pro that comes with a major overhaul. Aside from the much-awaited upgrade in features, the new MacBook Pro 2016 will also have a noticeable change in its design, with the new OLED display panel that is expected to be placed at the top of the device's keyboard.

BGR also noted a report from MacRumors stating some of the possible upgrades that will come with the new MacBook Pro according to tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Some of Kuo's predictions for the upcoming laptop claimed that it will be equipped with the Skylake processor from Intel, as well as the inclusion of the processor that is currently used in Apple Watch, to help control the rumored OLED touch bar. There is also a report claiming that the high-end version of the device will be equipped with Polaris graphics chips from AMD.

Kuo also claimed that the new laptop will have the USB Type-C port, as well as the Touch ID feature that can be used to safely purchase items online using Apple Pay.

Also, other reports claimed that the new MacBook Pro 2016 will come with a thinner, aluminum chassis for a lighter body. It will also come out with a wider pressure-sensitive trackpad.

Aside from the MacBook Pro 2016, the keynote event of Apple Inc. is expected to unveil details about the new MacBook Air 2016 and the new iMac 2016. The public can watch the event online on Thursday, Oct. 27.
