While the announcement about the release date of the MacBook Air 2016 did not make the cut during Apple's Keynote event on Wednesday, speculations claimed that device could still be unveiled in another special event later this year.

Mac World speculated that the Cupertino-based tech firm will come up with another product launching event sometime in October since the recently concluded event centered on the unveiling of the new iPhone 7, the iPhone 7 Plus, and the new Apple Watch Series 2. The rumored event could present the rest of the new MacBook products as well.

Yet earlier rumors claimed that the new-generation ultrathin laptop from Apple could possibly be omitted from the company's product list.

According to the same report, a tech blogger named Jack March had a word with a company insider who claimed that Apple will discontinue its MacBook Air and iPad Air products completely. This might turn out to be true since there are rumors stating that the tech giant will release an iPad Pro and a MacBook Pro in lieu of the iPad Air and MacBook Air products.

But in case the company is still making a new version of the MacBook Air, the device might come out with some of the most in-demand features like the Touch ID fingerprint recognition, the virtual assistant called Siri, the USB Type-C port, a bigger RAM memory, as well as a battery cooling system. The device might also come with the soon-to-be-released MacOS Sierra upon launch. It could also feature a 12-inch Retina display for better visual experience.

Although instead of 2016, the release date of MacBook Air 2016 might be pushed back to 2017.

The developers from Apple Inc. are expected to reveal more information about the rumored MacBook Air 2016 and other MacBook products in the coming days.
