While Netflix has yet to confirm the release date of "Longmire" season 5 premiere, the cast and crew of the show continue to provide insights into its plot on social media.

Based on the April 17 Twitter post of actress Katee Sackhoff, an interesting character from the past will resurface in "Longmire" season 5. However, the actress did not add another clue about the identity of the returning character.

Meanwhile, TVLine dropped a new teaser for the show's fifth season.

"Season 5 is currently casting some Irish crime family members whom Walt will take an interest in with regards to a drugs-related murder," it said.

Christian Daily added that the infamous Italian family could possibly get in the way of the blooming romance between Sackhoff's character Vic and Sheriff Walt Longmire, portrayed by actor Robert Taylor.

According to the report, the sheriff will end up with his deputy despite the relationship with Doctor Donna Monaghan (Ally Walker) that was teased at the end of season 4.

In last year's interview with Yahoo!, executive producer Hunt Baldwin teased that something might happen in the upcoming season.

"Having finally accepted the end of her marriage, we go into season 4 with Vic absolutely ready to take a different look at her life romantically," he said. "Obviously, I think that most fans know that there's some interesting tension between her and Walt. But there are also some new characters entering the world that are going to complicate that."

At the moment, the cast and crew are still filming the episodes for "Longmire" season 5.
