LG G7 ThinQ release date, specs rumors: To feature 6.1-inch Super Bright display with concealable notch

Just days before the much-awaited unveiling of LG's latest flagship smartphone, a new set of leaked images of the G7 ThinQ has surfaced online. Based on the reports, the LG G7 ThinQ will sport sport a widescreen display with increased brightness levels. Likewise, the device will go with the notch display trend, although this display feature will be made optional.

As reported by Tech Radar, the latest LG G7 ThinQ leaks reveal that the handset will receive a bigger 6.1-inch display, which dwarfs the 5.7-inch size of the previous LG G6 model. The upcoming smartphone will sport an all-screen design with nearly non-existent bezels and a 19:5:9 screen-to-body ratio. The screen will boast QuadHD+ resolution.

Like the iPhone X, the LG G7 ThinQ will have a notch area on the upper display, which is consistent with the earlier rumors. Although, the catch in this notch display is that the notch itself can be concealed by going to the display settings to fill the left and right portions of the notch with black bars.

Another highlight of the recent LG G7 ThinQ leaks is the massive brightness of the display screen. The LCD screen panel is said to reach up to 1,000 nits of brightness, which is more than the normal 600 nits of the current LG smartphones. With the increased brightness, G7 ThinQ users will be able to view their handset's screen clearly even in direct sunlight.

The official specs lineup of the LG G7 ThinQ will be revealed during the company's hardware event in New York City on May 2. Aside from the device's super bright display, the G7 ThinQ is also tipped to have a dedicated button to activate the Google Assistant. The Google Assistant button will be placed on the left side of the device, or just opposite the power button on the right. The LG G7 ThinQ is expected to feature the same custom LG commands of the previously unveiled V30S.
