The public expects to see the latest lineup of flagship smartphones coming this 2018. The South Korean tech giant, LG, is supposedly among the presenters in the tech expo later in February. However, the recent reports suggest that the company will not be launching its next-gen G series flagship at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). The LG G7 is now expected to be unveiled at a standalone event sometime in March or April.

Those who are waiting for the successor of the LG G6 will have to be patient as the G7 smartphone may not appear anytime soon. The previous G series handsets were launched by the South Korean firm at the past MWC events, but that will not be the case with the LG G7. According to Tech Advisor, an LG spokesperson revealed to the online publication that the company will not be having a special panel for the LG G7 in this year's MWC. Furthermore, the upcoming premium device will take a little more time to be released publicly.

To note, there have been earlier rumors that the LG G7 will not arrive at the MWC 2018. There are speculations that LG will be creating the next G series flagship from scratch, and it may even be launched with a different name. Although, an LG representative retracted that report from the company later on, claiming that the LG G7 will be released right on schedule.

According to Android Headlines, LG's presence in the Mobile World Congress will still be worthwhile as the company is about to launch the upgraded version of its other premium smartphone, the LG V30. In the original report by GearBurn, LG Electronics Managing Director in South Africa, CY Kim, that a major LG V30 refresh can be expected at the MWC 2018. The device is said to be known as the LG V30 Plus Alpha, which will boast a handful of AI functions.

As for the LG G7, it is believed that the forthcoming device will be among the first few handsets to run Qualcomm's current high-end mobile processor, the Snapdragon 835. The G7 smartphone is also expected to sport much slimmer bezels compared to the LG G6, going for a total all-screen display.
