LG G5 release date: device design showcased from all sides

The LG G5 is one of the most anticipated flagships for this year and one that is a bit of a mystery as well. With its nearing February launch, new information and leaks involving the smartphone come about.

Design details of the device were shown in a new batch of images obtained by Droid Life and it seems that the design language is not very different from that of the LG G4. But there are notable changes to take note of too.

First and foremost, the leaked images show that the LG G5 may indeed be sporting a dual-camera setup. A circular cut-out on the back, just under the rear camera, hints that it will feature a fingerprint scanner.

On the bottom of the LG G5 featured in the photos, there's the USB Type-C port at the center. A 3.5mm headphone jack sits on its left while speakers grilles stand on its right. The volume buttons were finally moved to the left hand side (next to the SIM and Micro SD card slots) as opposed to the handset's rear.

The images match the alleged diagram of the LG G5 provided by Shai Mizrachi a week back, which means that these images may really be onto something here, as far as spoiling what LG G5 is all about before its imminent release.

While the LG G5 and its predecessor have matching design language, what makes the former stick out is that it might come in an all-metal unibody. This will make the flagship the first device out of the company to don such, which is definitely a welcome change for users.

Not too long ago, it was rumored that the device will have a different kind of removable battery. Instead of taking it out from the back of the device, users can simply remove the battery by sliding it out from under the device with a push of a button.

As far as specs go, users are looking at a 5.5-inch Quad HD display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor running the show. The LG G5 will reportedly offer 3-GB of RAM as well.

The LG G5 is expected to be released Feb. 21, a day before the Mobile World Congress kicks off.
