LG Magna, LG Spirit, LG Leon, LG Joy specs roundup: Four mid-range smartphones announced

One week before the commencement of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, LG Electronics went ahead to announce that they will be launching four new mid-range smartphones that runs using the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. The devices, called the LG Magna, LG Spirit, LG Leon, as well as the LG Joy, will be put on display during the upcoming MWC event. 

"LG's new mid-range collection continues our legacy of offering amazing smartphones at reasonable prices," LG Electronics President and CEO Juno Cho stated in the company's latest press release for the devices. "For millions of consumers around the world, the deciding factor on which smartphone to buy isn't how fast or how big it is but how balanced it is. With our new mid-range smartphones, more and more customers will be looking to LG for their next handsets." 

The four devices come in varying specs. Here are the individual specs of each of the new mid-range LG smartphones:

LG Magna 

It comes with a 5.0-inch HD (294 ppi) display, 139.7 x 69.9 x 10.2mm over-all dimensions, 1.2 GHz or 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB RAM, as well as 8 GB internal memory. It also features an 8-megapixel primary rear camera as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing secondary shooter. 

LG Spirit 

The 133.3 x 66.1 x 9.9 mm LG Spirit comes with a 4.7-inch HD (312 ppi) display, 1.2 GHz or 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, as well as a 1 GB RAM with 8 GB internal memory. It is also equipped with an 8-megapixel or five-megapixel primary rear-end camera and a secondary shooter of 1 megapixel. 

LG Leon 

The new LG Leon comes with a 129.9 x 64.9 x 10.9mm body with a 4.5-inch FWVGA (220 ppi) display. It is equipped with a 1.2 GHz or 1.3 GHz quad-core chipset. It has an internal memory of 8 GB, and its RAM is 1 GB. The device has a rear primary camera of 8 megapixels or 5 megapixels, while its secondary front-facing camera has VGA quality. 

LG Joy 

Said to be the most affordable of the new mid-range phone releases, the LG Joy comes with a 122.7 x 64.0 x 11.9 mm body, a 4.0-inch WVGA (233 ppi) display, 1.2 GHz quad-core /1.2GHz dual-core chipset, with two RAM and internal memory options. One is the 8 GB and 1 GB RAM model, while the other one is the 4 GB with 512 MB RAM model. It also features a 5-megapixel primary camera and a VGA-quality front facing secondary camera. 

All four new smartphone devices will reportedly come with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, but LG Joy may also have an Android 4.4 KitKat model.
