It seems like Google is ready to spread out the 5.1 version of Android Lollipop in worldwide markets, after leaked reports about a Moto G 2014 with the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system surfaced online.

The leaked image posted on Tech Droider was allegedly sent by one of their followers via email. It contains a device with build number LXY22E and the image is dated Feb. 2.

Although Android and Motorola are still mum about the validity of the leaked image, it is not actually surprising to see the latest Android operating system in a Motorola-manufactured device since Google already tapped the mobile phone manufacturing firm to roll out the first Android 5.0 update last year.

The date of the leaked photo also coincides with earlier reports from the International Business Times, saying that the Android 5.1 Lollipop release date is scheduled for February 2015. The new operating system update will reportedly come out with better RAM capacity as well as improved battery management. It will also address other major Android issues like the Wi-Fi connectivity problems and sudden crashing of opened apps, among others.

Also, the new Android 5.1 Lollipop update comes with a brand new material design that provides more colorful, user-friendly bold UI with better notification system. This means that the user will find their latest notifications in the locked screen while the incoming notifications will be displayed in a banner-like format that can be seen at the top of the screen.

Meanwhile, STGS Gadgets also reported that Motorola is planning to roll out the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop update to their other product lines such as the Moto E and the Moto X. Accordingly, the latest Moto X version is believed to be revealed during the upcoming 2015 Mobile World Congress that will be held in Barcelona, Spain this March.

Expect to hear more Android 5.1 news this month if the earlier reports about its release date are accurate.
