After seeing the impressive game of free agent Michael Beasley, the LA Lakers are now considering to sign him up to provide more depth to the team's already crowded frontcourt.

Though no formal deal had been laid out, the team shows a lot of interest in the 25-year-old player.

Basketball Insider's Eric Pincus posted the report on Twitter, saying "As already tweeted - I hear Lakers liked Beasley workout - though given their long list of forward, MB may be looking at other options (first)."

However, the Lakers is known to have a very solid frontcourt. Aside from their main man Kobe Bryant, the team also has a lot of really talented guards like Xavier Henry and Nick Young, who can very well play amazing swingman posts. Beasley, on the other hand, is looking for a team that could give him more chances of having longer playing time on court.

As of the moment, there are no other reports about the number of teams that are interested to sign the former Miami Heat player. The team already let Beasley go after signing up veteran forward Shawne Williams last week.

Though it is known that Beasley has more talent than Williams, Miami Herald's Barry Jackson cited several reasons why the team decided to let him go, including "inconsistency, lack of trust in his defense (and ability to execute the Heat's defensive system), and maturity/focus issues."

Aside from the Heat, the team that drafted him in 2008, Beasley also played for Minnesota Timberwolves as well as the Phoenix Suns over the years.

Meanwhile, the Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak announced that the team signed the 46th 2014 draft pick Jordan Clarkson.

The 6'5" guard who originated from Missouri had an average of 15.8 points and five rebounds per game. According to NBA.com, he "was named Second Team All-SEC by the coaches in his lone season with the Tigers. An early entry candidate after his junior season."
