Kristen Bell has revealed that she had just finished doing the voice-over recordings for the sequel to the hit film "Frozen," but refuses to reveal more details about the movie's plot.
The 37-year-old actress dropped some hints about the upcoming movie during her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday.
"I have recorded the movie. There will be edits before it's finished but I know the songs, I know the story, it's very good — I can't say much more than that or I'll get in trouble!" Bell said, according to SF Gate.
Bell, who plays Anna in the 2013 animated movie, is reprising her role for the sequel along with other main cast members. Idina Menzel will be returning to voice Elsa, while Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff are coming back to portray their respective roles as Olaf and Kristoff.
Screenwriter and director Jennifer Lee said that she's encouraged by the early results of her work on the second installment of the hit film.
"We've done amazing stuff on 'Frozen 2,' and have a couple of songs already that are blowing my mind," Lee told Variety in March.
"We do about six screenings that we hand draw, and so I'm on the second draft, second screening. There's no shortcut. What we have today hopefully will be 10% of what we have when it opens," she added.
The upcoming sequel is expected to be released in theaters in November 2019. The original had earned $1.2 billion worldwide when it was released in 2013.
While Disney has kept quiet about the plot of the new movie, some fans have suggested that Elsa may be getting a lesbian partner in the sequel.
In 2016, fans launched a social media campaign with the hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend urging Disney to make Elsa a lesbian and giver her a same-sex partner in the sequel.
Some supporters argued that making Elsa a lesbian would help children who are undergoing sex change operations.
Other Twitter users said that they would boycott Disney if it gives in to the social media campaign.
Thousands have signed a petition asking Disney not to make Elsa a lesbian in the upcoming sequel.
"Protect the innocence of little girls rather than introducing them to lesbianism and the over-sexed LGBT cause," the petition urged Disney. It went on to ask the entertainment company to either give Elsa a prince for a partner or not give her a partner at all.
The petition also allows signers to mail a physical postcard to Disney headquarters to voice their concerns about the movie. The petition has been signed by over 14,800 people.
