Kobe Bryant makes scoring milestone, joins elite 3200-point club

Kobe Bryant made another career milestone by joining the elite group of NBA players who made more than 32,000 career points during the Lakers' victory against the Hawks on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old two-time Finals MVP and four-time All-Star MVP joined three high-scoring players who had the most points in NBA history, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who earned 38,387 points, Karl Malone who had a total of 36,928 points, as well as Michael Jordan who had 32,292 points.

Bryant recorded a total of 32,001 points after the game, and the basketball star was thrilled with his latest accomplishment.

"Well, it means a lot," he stated, as quoted by ESPN. "I can't stress how much work it is just to be in this position, to be able to get out there and play. It's a lot of work, man. And over 19 years, that's really where I take enjoyment from it, is the process. It's a lot of work over 19 years. It feels good to be able to have that accomplishment."

With just 291 points away from Jordan's scoring record, it is expected that Bryant will work to beat that number while he is still capable of playing in the league.

Yet not everyone is impressed with Bryant's performance.

The 16-time NBA All-Star player said, "There's always something. Especially with me. First it's, I can't come back and play. Now I'm playing and now it's, well, I'm not playing well enough. Well, you just said that I'd be in a wheelchair and I wouldn't be able to play at all. So there's always something. I don't even waste my time trying to shut people up."

Bryant is also the current scoring leader in the league, with an average record of 27.4 points per game recorded this season.

Currently, the Lakers have a 3-9 win-loss record during the 2014-2015 NBA Season, which placed them on the fifth slot in the Pacific standings.
