Nothing will stop Joey Feek from spending quality time with her loved ones -- not even cancer.
In a Facebook update posted Tuesday, Joey's husband, Rory Lee Feek, shared a touching moment between her and their 21-month-old daughter Indiana.
The photo showed the 40-year-old singer, who is going through the terminal phase of her cervical cancer, sitting on her hospice bed and reading a book for her daughter. Rory posted it with the caption, "Loving watching them loving each other."
The other half of the chart-topping Joey + Rory country and bluegrass duo constantly update their fans about Joey's health condition since she was diagnosed with cervical cancer in June 2014.
Other photos showed Joey sitting and playing with baby Indy on the floor. This may look very common to others, but being able to get out of bed could be considered a huge achievement for the country singer whose body was severely weakened by cancer.
In October, Rory revealed that the cancer already spread to her colon. They decided to stop all treatments when they learned that her cancer is already terminal. Joey began receiving end-of-life palliative care in their Alexandria, Indiana home since November.
Joey can no longer get out of bed because of her disease, but she was able to enjoy the holidays surrounded by her loved ones. Rory and the rest of their families and friends were happy to see Joey enjoying Christmas with them since her earlier prognosis said that she might not be able to get through the holidays.
In their blog This Life I Live, Rory revealed that it was hard for them to celebrate the holidays because of Joey's condition.
"The holidays have been a roller-coaster for my bride. She's had some good days, some bad days – some wonderful moments, and some deep pain that the morphine just couldn't seem to touch," Rory shared. "A sadness. A fear of the unknown. And even some anger – not at God, just at her situation I suppose. It's not easy for her to be as excited about what the new year holds in store as it was last year. But she says she's seen the light, and she's over that now..."
After successfully braving the Christmas holidays, Joey's loved ones are praying to see her well enough to celebrate Indiana's second birthday this coming February.
