During Joey Feek's continuous battle against cancer, her husband Rory keeps fans updated through his blog, This Life I Live. His latest post sees Rory accepting God's will and how situations and fates differ and how they are sometimes similar to other people's experiences.
"Some things are meant to be. They're bigger than us. Bigger than coincidence. And the only way you can explain them is... God," Rory wrote in his latest blog entry about his manager and cousin Aaron Carnahan's 48<sup>th birthday.
In the blog post, Rory revealed how Carnahan helped the couple become Joey + Rory, the country and bluegrass duo the world knows and loves today. It was he who "had a vision" that the couple will be making music together.
But more than that, Rory recalled how similar their lives were. They both had two kids in their first marriage that led to a divorce and both of their third kids had Down syndrome.
They eventually married wonderful ladies whose names start with the letter J -– Joey and Jill –- on the same date, which is Jun. 5. Even both women had amazing parallels. They grew up in a farmhouse with four siblings whose names also start with the letter J.
Aaron's wife was later diagnosed with cancer. Joey met the same fate. Learning this, Carnahan knew that Rory did not deserve to go through it as well and said that "this has to stop." Jill went through a series of treatment and eventually overcame cancer.
Meanwhile, Aaron has been helping out in keeping the house in order as Rory takes care of Joey.
"Though he is technically our manager, he doesn't really manage us or our career. Not really. He just loves us," Rory wrote.
In a previous post, Rory wrote about Joey preparing early for spring. Rory said that "thin and gaunt, and more frail than ever" Joey refuses to be stopped by cancer in her goal of planting a garden.
He said that Joey "is sowing her seeds -- putting down roots in the soil of our lives and hearts. Getting us ready for something that we can't see right now for the tears in our eyes... something she might not even get to see at all."
