'Jane the Virgin' season 2 spoilers: Jane to get married in new season?

Is Jane ready to choose who among Michael and Rafael will win her heart? The CW

Another major milestone in Jane Villanueva's (Gina Rodriguez) life will happen in "Jane the Virgin" season 2.

Executive producer Jennie Urman dropped an explosive plot detail for the sophomore season of The CW's critically-acclaimed comedy-drama series during an interview posted on TVGuide

"Jane will make a choice with one of the guys, eventually, and we will have a wedding at some point in the season," Urman shared.

In season 1, Jane was about to marry her long-time boyfriend Michael Cordero Jr. (Brett Dier) until Dr. Luisa Alver (Yara Martinez) accidentally performed an artificial insemination procedure on her using Rafael Solano's (Justin Baldoni) sperm.

While Michael continued to have feelings for Jane despite her situation, Rafael began to realize that he was falling in love with her as they went through the pregnancy together. Jane, on the other hand, became confused about her feelings for the two men. This season will finally reveal who has really captured Jane's heart.

But that will not be the only exciting event to look forward to this coming season as the executive producer also revealed that a couple will unexpectedly tie the knot in the series.

"By the fifth episode there's an unexpected marriage of two characters, and that's going to be the first [wedding]," Urman added. "And of course our weddings [will have] big, fun, whimsical set pieces."

Since Jane's parents Xiomara Villanueva (Andrea Navedo) and Rogelio de la Vega (Jaime Camil) already got married in the first season, it would be hard to guess who among the other characters will wed in the season's fifth episode. But considering that the show loves to surprise its viewers with unexpected plots, the said pairing would undoubtedly shock the audience.

Who could possibly think of building a family in the already complicated situation in the series?

"Jane the Virgin" season 2 premieres on Monday, Oct. 19, on The CW.
