Sorry Rogelio de la Vega (Jaime Camil), it seems like Britney Spears has done it again.
After Rogelio talked about their long-standing feud back in the first season, pop superstar Britney Spears will finally appear in The CW's critically acclaimed comedy drama "Jane the Virgin" season 2. This time, her version of the feud will be finally revealed.
The trailer for the episode shows Britney's visit at the Marbella Hotel, where she meets her long-time nemesis Rogelio at the hotel lobby. Based on his reaction, Rogelio is obviously not pleased when he sees the phonemenal pop star.
Rogelio's daughter Jane (Gina Rodriguez) is happy to find her pop idol there. When Britney asks her if she wants to dance with her, Jane abruptly agrees. The two are then seen dancing to Britney's hit song "Toxic." Yet as expected, it turns Rogelio from a gentle, loving dad into an envious entertainer.
Reports about Britney's appearance in "Jane the Virgin" season 2 first came out in August, when series showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman released a statement, saying: "We are so thrilled that Rogelio's 'nemesis' — Britney Spears — has agreed to appear on 'Jane The Virgin' in episode 205. Personally, after hearing about their long standing fued (from Rogelio's point of view), we are eager to hear Ms. Spears' side of the story, which we assume is quite different. #TeamBritney"
But Urman was not the only one who expressed her excitement regarding the upcoming episode.
Rodriguez, the lead star of the series, also revealed in a previous interview with E! News that she was ecstatic when she found out that her musical idol will grace the show. She recalled that she has been a big Britney Spears fan since she was 16 years old. She became a bigger fan when she got to meet her on set. "We got to dance together and I cannot wait to see her in Vegas and to see her show. She had already sold me on her talent, but she really sold me on the wonderful human that she is," Rodriguez stated.
"Jane the Virgin" season 2 episode 5 will air on Monday, Nov. 9, on The CW.
