A supposedly dead character will return in one of the new episodes of "iZombie" season 3.

TVLine exclusively revealed that Drake Holloway (Greg Finley), Liv's ex-boyfriend who she had to kill to save the life of her detective partner Clive Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) towards the end of season 2, will surprisingly return next season.

According to the report, Drake will be seen in "iZombie" season 3 episode 10 after Liv eats the brains of a psychologically disturbed man who was being followed by the ghost of his dead wife who he killed in a car crash. However, the details about Drake's connection with the case remain unannounced.

Meanwhile, speculations claim that Liv will have a happier love story this time around when "iZombie" returns to The CW's midseason timeslot for season 3.

In a past interview with TVLine, executive producer Rob Thomas revealed during the 2016 Comic-Con that Liv's next love story will not end up in a tragic death for the other person. "Liv will have a love interest this year who will not die," Thomas said in the interview

Some speculations claim that Liv and her ex-fiancé, Major (Robert Buckley), will find themselves back in each other's arms next season, while others claim that Liv will meet a new man in her life. But there are no confirmation yet if a new guy had been cast to portray the role of Liv's new love interest.

On the other hand, the third season of "iZombie" will also introduce a new character played by "Veronica Mars" star Jason Dohring. He will portray the role of the brother-in-law of Fillmore Graves CEO Vivian Stoll (Andrea Savage). "The Goldbergs" alum Natalie Alyn Lind and "Good Luck, Charlie" star Andrew Caldwell will also appear next season.

The CW is expected to reveal the premiere episode of "iZombie" season 3 in the coming days.
