While the iPhone 8 is rumored not to arrive as scheduled, rumors on its possible specs and features continue to surface online. If the latest reports are to be believed, the highly anticipated smartphone may come with a fingerprint scanner located at the back part of the device.

As Apple is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the iPhone this year, it is but understandable why Apple fans are expecting the latest version of its device to be nothing short of awesome. While there are many rumors attached to the iPhone 8, the latest reports claim that the upcoming Apple smartphone will have its fingerprint scanner located at the back part of the device.

According to reports, Apple has originally planned the fingerprint scanner to be embedded on the display of the iPhone 8 as it get rids of the Home Button of the device. However, allegedly, the Cupertino-based company has a hard time actualizing the plan, and pushing through with it may result in the long delay of the device. Hence, instead of having the fingerprint scanner placed beneath the display, it will now have the said feature placed at the back of the device, even if many believe it will make the smartphone look unsightly.

It has been learned that speculations on the iPhone 8 having its fingerprint scanner located at the back of the upcoming iPhone 8 stemmed from the purported leaked images of the smartphone. While it remains uncertain whether the said leaked images are legit or not, some suspect that the images are only design drawings for the iPhone 8 during its early stages. Hence, if they are, indeed, legit, there is still a possibility that the actual product may deviate from how it looks in the said leaked images.

Meanwhile, apart from possibly coming with a fingerprint scanner located at its back, rumors claiming that the iPhone 8 will be called the iPhone X continue to circulate online. Allegedly, as the phone is meant to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, Apple has decided to assign it the name iPhone X rather than iPhone 8.

However, all of these can only be confirmed once Apple launches the iPhone 8, or whatever it will be called, allegedly this autumn.
