iPhone 7 rumors: Rumors of improved camera and sapphire glass display features circulate online

After the huge success of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus smartphones, it seems that Apple Inc. is ready to move forward to developing the successor of the company's flagship smartphone products. According to reports, the Cupertino-based tech giant is tapping the services of Japanese electronics brand Sony to work on a feature that will make the camera capable of capturing DSLR-quality photos.

Gadget analyst John Gruber reportedly talked about it in the latest episode of "The Talk Show," saying, "The specific thing I heard is that next year's camera might be the biggest camera jump ever. I don't even know what sense this makes, but I've heard that it's some kind of weird two-lens system where the back camera uses two lenses and it somehow takes it up into DSLR quality imagery."

The merger could be an unlikely pairing since Sony manufactures its own smartphone line called the Xperia, which is one of the leading competitors of the iPhone in the market today. Yet this won't be the first time that competitive tech brands will work together, since HTC and Motorola both worked to create the Nexus line of smartphones and tablets.

Also, there are reports circulating that the upcoming iPhone 7 will finally feature the sapphire glass cover that is missing in the present iPhone 6. The sapphire glass cover will reportedly be sourced from Foxconn, one of Apple's long-time suppliers in China. This report came just days after Apple's initial sapphire glass supplier GT Advanced Technologies filed for bankruptcy.

Other supposed iPhone 7 features include an enhanced camera feature, which will reportedly jump to 21 megapixels from the current iPhone 6's 8-megapixel feature. It will also reportedly have a quad-core A8 processor and will have a bigger 256 GB internal memory.

There is no news yet as to when the upcoming iPhone 7 will be announced or released in the market, but Apple watchers are expecting to get concrete news about it in the coming year.
