iPhone 7 release date, specs rumors: Tim Cook teases device will have features that owners 'can't live without'

Everyone would want to have an iPhone 7, according to a statement from Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Speaking with Jim Cramer from CNBC, the chief executive from the Cupertino-based tech giant revealed that the next generation iPhone will come out with a "killer feature" that will make anyone desire to have one. According to Cook, the upcoming smartphone will have something that people cannot live without.

"We're incredibly excited about things we're working on. Incredibly excited. We've got great innovation in the pipeline, new iPhones that will incent you and other people that have iPhones today to upgrade to new iPhones," Cook said in the televised interview, as reported by Know Your Mobile. "We're going to give you things that you can't live without that you just don't know you need today."

However, the Apple CEO was clever not to mention any details regarding the said feature.

Meanwhile, rumors about the possible missing headphone jack on iPhone 7 could be debunked by a new report from French site Nowhereelse.fr spotted by MacRumors.

The report found an image of a Lightning cable assembly that is speculated to be designed for the iPhone 7. It comes with a lot of components, such as a cellular antenna cables as well as the typical Lightning port. Yet the most significant finding in the image is the separate white headphone jack that can be seen on the left-hand side of the device.

It was also mentioned in the report that the image was submitted by an anonymous source through a Weibo account. This means that the validity of the said report will be hard to confirm.

In other news, BGR reported that the public is more interested about the iPhone 7 compared to the iPhone 6s, based on the tally presented by AppleInsider. According to the report, the interest in buying an iPhone 7 looks higher compared to the latest iPhone model in the market today.

The iPhone 7 release date has not been announced.
