How could Iggy Azalea get entangled with a divorce rumor without getting married?

TMZ reportedly obtained the legal documents filed by rapper Hefe Wine, whose real name is Maurice William, to end his alleged common-law marriage with the "Black Widow" singer in a court in Texas.

According to the docs, the former couple "agreed to be married, holding themselves out as man and wife and began residing together in the State of Texas on or about September, 2008." They only broke up last year.

Texas laws consider any man and woman living together as a legally married couple if they both agree to the set-up.

Reports mentioned that the 24-year-old "Fancy" rapper and Williams started living together in 2008, back when Iggy was still 18 years-old.

Williams is asking the court to prevent Iggy from selling any of the assets that they have acquired while they were still together, including the music that she created while they were still living together as husband and wife.

If the courts grant his request, Williams has the right to get 50 percent of Iggy's earnings.

However, Iggy claims that there is no truth to any of Williams' claims, and they did nothing more than date. Her reps also mentioned that the divorce lawsuit was just an attempt to milk cash from the rising rap artist.

A source disclosed to the Daily News, "They only dated for around six months. This is just another attempt to try and get money from Iggy when she was never married to him."

Inquisitr also reported that the former couple already had a legal battle prior to the filing of the divorce. Allegedly, Iggy accused Williams of unauthorized releasing of several of her early recordings, and she filed a legal complaint to stop the release.

Also, Williams earlier released a sex tape between him and Iggy. It can be remembered that she denied the authenticity of the tape, but later retracted her statements and claimed that it might have been taped without her knowledge.
