"Hyrule Warriors Legends" is getting some more early DLC love with a classic character gracing the newly released title.

Nintendo has announced that Marin, a central character in the Game Boy classic "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening," will be a playable character in "Hyrule Warriors Legends."

Marin is part of the second DLC coming to the "Hyrule Warriors Legends" to be released summer this year. The first DLC character to come before her is Medli from "Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker."

Marin is a young girl hailing from Mabe Village. She plays the flute and is blessed with a kind heart. She saved Link and nursed him back to health after he was shipwrecked to her hometown.

She is best known for her love for music and singing. In fact, she even taught Link a song that eventually restored balance to the island she calls home and awakened the Wind Fish egg.

Her addition to "Hyrule Warriors Legends" comes as a great surprise to longtime fans of the game franchise. "Link's Awakening" was released more than two decades ago, 1993 to be exact, which is why seeing her in a new-generation title like "Hyrule Warriors Legends" makes gamers' hearts flutter.

"Hyrule Warriors Legends" is a Nintendo 3DS port of the Wii U title made available last March 25. The Nintendo 3DS exclusive comes with new characters and a number of mechanical changes.

A season pass has also been announced for "Hyrule Warriors Legends" and Marin will be in it. Purchasing it will make more DLC characters such as Tetra, Linkle and Skull Kid playable not only in the 3DS game but in the original Wii U version as well.

The description for "Hyrule Warriors Legends" is as follows:

War rages as the delicate balance of the Triforce is disrupted. The kingdom of Hyrule is once again being torn apart by a dark power, this time led by Sorceress Cia. Now it's up to the legendary hero Link to face hordes of enemies and find the missing Princess Zelda.
