Huawei P20 release date, specs rumors: Phones will be launched later this month; Detailed pricing revealed

Electronics company Huawei is set to launch their latest line of flagship phones this month. The phones follow a naming convention and are called the P20, P20 Lite and P20 Pro. Most of the specs for the phones have been revealed, but the latest leaks also gave consumers an idea of their pricing. The date when they will hit the market was revealed recently, as well.

According to reputable tipster Roland Quandt, the P20 Lite will be the most affordable of the three, costing €369 (US$455/£330/AU$585). The P20 will cost €679 (US$840/£605/AU$1,080) and the P20 Pro — priciest of the bunch — will cost €899 (US$1,110/£800/AU$1,430).

Of these prices, the euro currency is the most reliable. Of course, the actual prices for different regions may vary and will not be exact conversions of the euro price. However, it will be safe to say that the prices will not fall too short or too high off those values.

This also tells us that the Huawei P20 series will be pricier than the P10. Still, it is more affordable than flagship models from giant phone brands Apple and Samsung.

Another significant leak regarding this new line of Huawei phones is the launch date. Apparently, a billboard for these phones was spotted in Barcelona, Spain. In it, the phone company advertised that they are going to launch the phones on March 27. There is also a part that says the P20 series of phones will come with built-in artificial intelligence (AI).

AI seems to be one of the main draws of the Huawei P20. However, its technical specifications are still very much competitive. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo, with the P20 and P20 Pro sporting a Kirin 970 system-on-chip (SoC) processor. Both models have 8 GB of random-access memory (RAM) and up to 256 GB of storage. Meanwhile, the Lite version will have an octa-core Kirin 659 SoC processor, with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.
