Details regarding Huawei's next flagship smartphone remain scarce at this point, although several leaks of the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus smartphones have already surfaced. The latest scoop came from TENAA, which has recently certified two unnamed Huawei handsets. A TENAA certification would mean that the P20 and P20 Plus will soon arrive in the market.

TENAA, which is the Chinese counterpart of the United States' Federal Communications Commission (FCC), has apparently approved the patent filing submitted by Huawei for its latest smartphone models. According to the latest reports, the two Huawei devices that received TENAA certification are known by their codenames, EML-AL00 and CLT-AL00. Earlier rumors suggest that Huawei is calling the P20 and P20 Plus as Emily and Charlotte, respectively, in order to avoid info leakage while the devices are still being developed in the lab. With this, the spotted EML-AL00 Huawei device in the recent TENAA listing is likely to be the P20, while the CLT-AL00 is the P20 Plus.

It was revealed that the upcoming Huawei P20 and P20 Plus will feature both time division long-term evolution (TD-LTE) and frequency division duplex long-term evolution (FDD-LTE) 4G LTE networks, which means that the users can expect faster and more stable internet connection while using these devices. Also, the TENAA listing shows that the handsets will be shipped with dual SIM card slots, the same case with the previous Huawei P series smartphones. However, it is possible that Huawei will release P20 and P20 Plus units with a single SIM slot.

The TENAA listing did not reveal much about the upcoming Huawei phones' hardware specs, although previous rumors claim that the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus will be the first handsets to showcase a triple-lens rear camera setup with a maximum image resolution of up to 40 megapixels. The flagship devices are expected to sport much thinner bezels to give an all-screen front display, and the two will be powered by Huawei's very own Kirin 970 64-bit octa-core chipset. Huawei P20 and P20 Plus are likely to run the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update out of the box.
