How to download, install iOS 10 GM Build on Apple iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch without a glitch

More individuals can finally try the newly released iOS 10 GM Built after Apple Inc. released the beta version of the upcoming mobile operating system for public testing.

Those who registered to participate in the free public beta will get to enjoy the new iOS 10 GM a week earlier than the rest of the Apple consumers. But only those with compatible devices can successful download the software before they can get hold of its full potential.

According to the Cupertino-based tech firm, those who own a specific line of iPhones, iPads, and the latest iPod can download the new iOS 10 GM. It includes the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, the iPad Pro 12.9-inch, iPad Pro 9.7-inch, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad 4<sup>th generation, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, as well as the iPod touch 6<sup>th generation.

They also have to register at the Apple Developer Program page in order to download the iOS 10 GM in their devices.

After logging on to the Apple Developer Program, those who signed up for the public beta testing should do the following after making sure that all the current files have been backed up properly:

  • Click on the "Discover" button found on the top page;
  • Choose the iOS tab;
  • Click on the blue "Download" button on the top right hand corner to head over the download page;
  • Once the "iOS Restore Images" appeared under the iOS 10 GM seed, click on the "See All" button.
  • Pick the iOS 10 GM firmware made specifically for the device, then wait until it fully downloads;
  • After the downloading process had been completed, users should plug the iOS device using the provided USB cable before launching the iTunes.

Users should select the type of iOS device from the choices found on the left hand corner of iTunes, then hold down the "Option" key or "Shift" key on the keyboard to prompt the "Restore iPhone" button to appear. Then a new window will be seen.

Finally, users could select the iOS 10 GM firmware file and allow iTunes to restore the device to the new firmware.

Those who were not able to register to the public beta of the iOS 10 GM could get their hands on the new mobile operating system on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
