Claire Danes dropped a major piece of information about her character's return to U.S. soil in "Homeland" season 6.

During the series' panel at New York's Paley Center on Tuesday, Danes revealed that Carrie Mathison goes to Manhattan after spending some time in Berlin "because Quinn is receiving therapy here."

This means that Quinn (Rupert Friend) is still alive. At the end of season 5, Quinn's life appeared to be in peril after being exposed to the sarin gas that the terrorists planned to use in the major attack.

On the other hand, executive producer Alex Gansa also shared that the upcoming season of "Homeland" will center on the counter-terrorism drives in New York almost 20 years after the massive 9/11 terrorist attack.

"Homeland wants to objectively sit back and look at how scared we should be," the executive producer said during the PaleyFest as reported by TV Guide. "I don't think Homeland wants to contribute to that fear ... It's not going to be a story about a bomb going off," he went on to say.

It was also revealed that the new season will showcase the transition period between the presidential election and the inauguration event after the country's first female president, Elizabeth Keane (Elizabeth Marvel), had been elected.

Danes also told The Cut the Marvel's character has a slight resemblance with real-life U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, saying that "she is tenacious and formidable, like Hillary." However, she clarified that the minor similarities between the character and the real presidential aspirant do not mean that the people behind the show revealed their preferences. "Our writers [didn't] exactly hedge their bets," the actress stated.

Also, Mandy Patinkin revealed during the PaleyFest 2016 that his character, Saul Berenson, will continue making Carrie realize that she is destined to help the CIA fight terrorists in the upcoming season of the political espionage thriller.

"Homeland" season 6 will premiere on Showtime on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2017.
