Claire Forlani will lend an extra hand to hunt down a dangerous serial killer when "Hawaii Five-0" returns for season 7.

Entertainment Weekly revealed that the "Meet Joe Black" star was tapped to portray a recurring role in the upcoming season of the police procedural series. She will play the role of a retired criminal profiler named Alicia Brown, who will work with McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) to track down a serial killer who endangers the lives of the Oahu residents.

According to executive producer Peter Lenkov, "Alicia and McGarrett have a profound respect for each other and what they have accomplished professionally." He added that the former criminal profiler's skills will be very helpful in solving the case. "Her insight and expertise as a profiler will be paramount for Five-0 to track down this killer menacing the Island for those who visit and those who call it their home."

Forlani's character is expected to appear in the second episode of the upcoming season.

Aside from Forlani, "Hawaii Five-0" season 5 will also introduce the new governor of Hawaii who will be portrayed by "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23" alum Rosalind Chao, while "American Crime" cast member Faran Tahir will guest star as a smooth-talking rich Egyptian-born entrepreneur.

While details about the plot of the new season are still kept under wraps, Lenkov occasionally drops teasers about the show via his Instagram account.

In one of his posts, the executive producer shared a photo of McGarrett and Danno (Scott Caan) receiving a medal from someone who looks life Queen Elizabeth II. He also shared a video clip where the Five-0 Task Force partners are seen in their full competitive form as they race against each other using hospital wheelchairs.

CBS will air "Hawaii Five-0" season 7 premiere on Friday, Sept. 23.
