'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' spoilers: Star-Lord gets an unlikely love interest?

Star-Lord is rumored to make an interesting friend in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." Marvel Studios

Despite his quest to learn the identity of his father, Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) will reportedly have some time for some romance in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."

According to the latest plot speculations about the sequel, the villain Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) will be the woman that Peter Quill will be involved with in the new season.

Inverse reports that Ayesha will be in search of a "perfect mate" in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." In the comics, this "perfect mate," in the form of Adam Warlock, is already a goner.

Ayesha was born in a laboratory along with Adam Warlock with the sole mission to start the Aryan race. Her mate's death definitely rendered that unattainable, unless she finds a new one.

With a faultless superhuman biology, Ayesha has her mind on the reproducing an entire race of super brood and nothing else. Since that is no longer possible with Adam Warlock, it is expected she will go for Star-Lord instead.

The publication is convinced that this will be her situation in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" and will definitely open up a story involving conflict with the other Guardians.

As far as her abilities go, Ayesha can make any weapon of her choice by manipulating cosmic energy. Making the big bad the perfect supercreature is her superhuman strength, speed, and endurance.

Since Warlock is not expected to be included in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," and keeping in mind Ayesha's one goal, it is very likely that she will be eyeing Star-Lord as her new mate.

While there's no confirmation about this yet, it is definitely exciting to see what a character like Ayesha will be up to in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."

Meanwhile, the filming has been completed. A trailer is expected to be shown at the San Diego Comic Con (July 20 to July 24 at the San Diego Convention Center) since director James Gunn and Pratt will be attending.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" hits the big screen on May 5, 2017.
