If the title of next week's episode of "Grey's Anatomy" is any indication of what the plot will bring, then it appears as though one of the doctors will have to choose to live a life without someone in it.
The 17th episode in season 11 of Shonda Rhimes' long-running medical drama is called "With or Without You," which ignites speculations about a possible breakup between two of the main characters in the show. Could it be Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and her husband Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), who are having a hard time managing their marriage after he transferred to Washington D.C. for a new job opportunity?
In episode 15, Meredith tried to call Derek to share about her recent success in the hospital, but an unknown woman answered the phone. Meredith thinks about that call throughout episode 16, but she still cannot decide if her husband is cheating on her in the same way that he cheated on his ex-wife Addison (Kate Walsh). According to the synopsis of episode 17, Meredith is still unsure about how to handle the recent relationship blow between her and Derek.
The official synopsis for "With or Without You" reads:
"Meredith, rattled by the latest events, tries to figure out what to do about Derek. Meanwhile, Owen (Kevin McKidd) is shocked when his mother is admitted to the hospital."
But Meredith and Derek are not the only couple whose relationship is on the rocks these days. Based on the sneak preview of episode 16 titled "Don't Dream It's Over," Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) sees Callie (Sara Ramirez) kissing another woman after a quick date that is disrupted by an emergency hospital call. Callie and her new girl seem to be having a good time, while Arizona silently looks at them through a window. Could this mean that Callie has already moved on after her relationship with Arizona ended?
Episode 16 of "Grey's Anatomy" season 11 airs tonight, March 19, while episode 17 is slated to air on March 26.
